I got the Hell out of Saint Rose as soon as I could. While it is a nice campus with extremely friendly students and staff, in no way at all does those school prepare you for anything in live. Saint Rose is a closed off bubble; all the buildings face inward toward the quad. Rarely do you catch a glimpse of the outside world. Not that you would want too. Albany is a dirty, unsafe, boring little city that has two things you can count on doing; the mall, and Lark Street. Albany is just a terrible city and you run out of cool things to do fairly quickly. To combat this, Saint Rose provides a hefty amount of childish, night-time activities to keep students out of trouble. Saint Rose has a extreme "high school" mindset. The study body is predominately run by popular kids; a small inner circle of students who basically run everything and everybody knows and loves. Saint Rose is small enough that everyone knows everyone else's business. The student body consists mainly of snooty, boring, upper New York kids who have never travelled OUT of upper New York. The classes are super simple. The year I attended Saint Rose, any class that had a computer, I just bullshitted on. Still had a 3.7 GPA.Saint Rose does not inspire creativity, independent thinking, or just…thinking in general. The school will coddle and babysit you. And that does not prepare you for what comes next in the real world. Nobody is going to hold your hand. If you insist on that lifestyle…yes, Saint Rose can be fun and it is nice to be treated like a person and not a number. But in the long run, definitely the worst of schools I applied too.
