This school has no challenge what so ever. They put in place these attendance policies but there is no point for the policies because the course work is beyond simple. The professors are terrible.The school over all is awful. Look into other degree programs and don't fall into the persona the school tries to convince you of before you come here. All the people that do the tours are the only normal people in this school.

Once you get here there's no social life besides the going to one of the three frat houses and seeing the same people week in week out. Apart from golf the sports are beyond a joke, no one cares about sports not even the coaches. Also the percentage of the student population that smoke is probably over 50% and is roughly the same for the number who smoke weed.

The administration is terrible, its nearly time for finals and I've yet to receive mid term grades. I've also had random holds put on my account preventing me from registering for the few classes that are offered.

Core is honestly a joke for a subject, they say that core is their strong suit, if that's the case then that is a sorry excuse for their strong suit. The teachers aren't all professors, they go over texts that really have no application, the whole point is trying to find yourself and who you are in the world. Its useless and it doesn't transfer at all. Their degree programs are worthless, most people are done with all the classes they need for their degree by junior year. There is no challenge for the degree. The professors here don't speak fluent English. If you are a bio or chemistry major STAY AWAY! They will suck you in with the core just know its a HOAX! They will offer you a ton of financial aid but even with that any money you pay is still not even worth the value of this school… DO NOT TAKE THE MONEY SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE THAT'S WORTH IT!

The people are ridiculously weird, weird as in the weird people in school that you purposely stay away from because you don't know if they know how to even talk or if they are insane. The normal people here all want to transfer, there's a reason it has a 34% 4 year graduation rate.

Along with that they also have the crappiest food except when they have these prospective students come that's the only time its even close edible. Its not worth even paying for. I would rather spend my money somewhere else. Its not even good. They don't provide enough choices, they don't give you enough side options either and all of the options they do have are god awful. I think I may have developed scurvy, anemia and have a high chance of heart from the copious of fried food, specifically chicken(or that's what they say it is) that is served.

I could go on for days about how awful this school is. If you want a future, an education, a college experience, then Oglethorpe is not for you. Oglethorpe is for a select group of students that are to small for a State school and to big for community college, this is what I would call an attempt at a college. If you want to be sane, happy and successful find another option even if the money isn't as good. In the long run you will see the value, here you will just hate yourself and this hell hole of a school.
