Interesting comment…I graduated in '92 and GCC did not help at all in job /interview preparation and the placement rate was under 20%. Not one company that I have worked for cared about my degree from GCC, the 4 year degree part helped but not the fact that it came from GCC. I was under the impression that things have changed over the past 20 years. I spoke with someone recently in Admin and she said that students are much more involved with their careers after GCC, and they were much more prepared. Is this not true? What were your impressions of GCC job/career placement? I mean what did GCC do for you before you graduated to help you? |
Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
Grove City College does not live up to the reputation it attempts to convey. Most graduate schools around the country have never heard of this small college. Therefore, even with good grades, you are very unlikely to get into any graduate schools unless you are in the top 10% of your class. I have applied for three years to graduate schools, got a great score on the GRE, and I have been turned down by every single school. Please listen to this advice and do not go here. Unless you are the smartest in your GCC class, which is highly unlikely, this school will hurt you more than help you. I have actually been turned down for jobs while being unemployed because I have had a degree. I got a 3.2 in Molecular Biology, and I have been turned down by probably 20+ schools. I am not saying this out of spite. I actually want others to reconsider their decision to go here. The tremendous amount of effort the school requires will likely not give you anything in return.
