I'm halfway through my freshman year and I can't decide if choosing Assumption was a terrible decision or a good way to make me get my life into shape. On one hand: the girls are bitchy, the guys are assholes, campus can be boring if you don't have a lot of friends and everything is always broken/out of power. However, the professors are super nice, super understanding and just want students who WANT to learn, save for the few crazies that just hate the world. Yes, it is very expensive and YES if you're from a middle class family like mine even with the aid package you receive you will be paying off loans for the rest of your natural born life but once you find your niche at Assumption it's really easy to belong. I like to volunteer (i.e. I'm good with people. People just tend to like me) so that's where I found mine with the Reach Out Center. My best friends found theirs with SGA and being RAs. You may spend the first month or so brooding like me, but once your figure out where you belong it get much better very quickly, I promise. I haven't decided if Assumption was the right decision for me…part of me is kicking myself in the face for not biting the bullet and going to UCONN but I know that I won't be transferring out of Assumption, I've found my place there and would feel partially empty if I left it.
