I'm a fourth year male student studying psychology here. I've enjoyed a number of classes, but haven't been able to get much out of it because of the student culture, even though the professors here are often great. If you come to Delaware, you'll probably have a few good times, but this place has serious issues. It can be massively isolating for a majority of the students here. People are unfriendly and untrusting / cold, like there is a serious apathy / depression epidemic. The mental health overall is just bad. I could see there being a shooting here within a couple years. Someone shot themselves in the head on the library patio last year. The girls here are quite attractive, but are often dissatisfied with what the guys have to offer, and there's a lot of bitchiness as a result (among some).

I am a UD alumna and I would like to clarify one of the statements made by the commentator. The incident at the Morris library patio was not a "shot to the head." The incident indeed happen but it was deemed a suicide attempt. More info below. Also, I disagree with the reviewers take of the mental state of the student body, I had a great experience and I believe most students like UD and enjoy their stay. However, I have to point out that there is an obvious lack of diversity and I sensed the campus to be very Eurocentric, but that is only my personal opinion and they seem to be trying to bring in diversity, so that might change the environment. Overall, I can say students are friendly and enthusiastic. Most of the people I met knew what they wanted and how they wanted to achieve their goals. Also, the study abroad programs are phenomenal.
