Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm a smart person that could have gone to more "prestigious" schools such as Boston College or Emory. I came to Elon mainly for the scholarship money. Postives: Beautiful campus that doesn't feel too small, faculty that will REALLY help you if you take the time to befriend them, good opportunities for involvement if you look for themNegatives: the campus culture is a mix of northern, white, rich, preps and rich southern kids. For the most part, people are pretty full of themselves and are usually not that intelligent. The honors program requires you to take a bunch of BS classes that are not necessarily hard, but very time consuming and prevent you from exploring other areas of interest because they take up an entire class (1 out of 4 you can take) every semester and are usually stupid yet still GPA-lowering. For example, I have to take a class on "Modern families" or one on aliens. I feel like the people in my classes are dumb, I was expecting it to be not as challenging as high school, but it really is 10x less challenging than high school, and I feel like academics in terms of preparing me for Med school are not that great.
