I'd rather have some professors not give me a letter at all than to put up with what goes on at other colleges. At really bad colleges in particular, the few excellent students who go there who should be getting excellent recommendation letters get bad letters only because the unqualified professors are jealous that these students can outdo them and want to set them up for failure. Like I said, it's better for these students not to get any letter at all. |
Major: Economics (This Major's Salary over time)
UC Irvine is a wonderful university. I have had some really inspirational professors, insightful classes, and I feel academically competitive enough to apply to the Ph.D program at UCI. The only bad part about UCI is that some professors are not responsive and they are very hard to get letters of recommendation from.
