This school is amazing! Most people who disapprove of this school never even visited the school. It may be the newest UC, but that does not mean it is a terrible school. In fact, the small student/teacher ratio allows students to receive more individual attention from their professors. It makes research more accessible too. The classes are extremely challenging, but I was always offered help from either a student, a professor, or a TA when I was struggling. In general, I would say the UC Merced community is friendly and helpful. Despite the small surrounding city, there are still plenty activities to do within the campus. Students are always welcomed to join events, clubs, research, or organizations. Students need to get involved in order to have a good experience - like any other school experience.
