Winthrop University offers more to its students than just a beautiful campus. The university is proud to be an accredited institution by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. With an estimated 6,000 students, Winthrop University has a 15 to 1 student to faculty ratio and undergraduate lecture courses that average 24 students. With these kinds of numbers, students and faculty are able to develop close, personal relationships.

There are five colleges at Winthrop University: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, University College, and the College of Business Administration. Each college has unique degree programs and requirements.

Winthrop University's College of Business Administration is accredited by: the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business; Accrediting Board of Engineering and Technology; Association of University Programs in Health Programs; and the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Classes for the College of Business Administration are located mainly in two buildings on campus, Thurmond Building and Carroll Hall.

Carroll Hall is equipped with a stock ticker, world clocks, and a nine-screen data wall; as well as an auditorium, numerous team learning rooms and computer classrooms. Thurmond Building is a four-story building that has faculty offices, classrooms, resource rooms and computer labs. The Thurmond resource rooms offers tutoring for students in courses such as economics, accounting, financing, and computer science. Instructors in the College of Business Administration have regular office hours, as well as available contact information. Students can easily communicate with instructors inside and outside of the classroom.

Winthrop University's College of Business provides positive experiences for its students by offering small class sizes, challenging and interesting courses, and access to the latest technology.
