Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
The school is still shaking off a reputation of being a half assed school…the assumption is that it's really easy to get into, but they actually have a lower acceptance rate than umass Amherst (64% vs.66%). Additionally, they are trying to grow the school and basically take over lowell as a college town like Amherst. You've got mostly approachable professors and only a few that think their shit doesn't stink. The town has improved aesthetically, crime rate fallen and better restaurants have come to town. Plenty to do in town. Cultural festival during summer, folk festival (which brings the likes of Damien marley..bobs son), tsongas arena which has concerts for the likes of bob Dylan ( there last week), snoop dogg, drake,, pit bull, etc. students get discount tickets to all shows, home of homer Winslow, jack Kerouac, half hour train ride from historic downtown Boston, and home of Red Sox affiliate, lowell spinners, which have produced John pappelbon, Hanley Ramirez, Kevin youklis, jacoby ellsbery, clay bucholz, etc.
