Blue Ridge is the best community college for the money in my opinion. I visited Thomas Nelson, Paul D. Camp, Tidewater Community College. Blue Ridge has the best kept campus that I have been to. The mini quad offers some good pick up soccer games and the technology in the labs is all up to date. It is great for a transfer to JMU. Earning your associates and then going to JMU is the best decision you can make to save some money and earn a degree before the bachelors. Compared to the other community colleges the faculty is mostly from JMU, Bridgewater, or EMU. All of the teachers I took were great and well spoken. The students are mostly college age with a few at JMU or EMU or Bridgewater going to BRCC to save money on credits. Its an actual college that challenges you that doesn't let you coast on through. I would definitely go here if I had to choose a community college again.Housing in Harrisonburg is cheap and the commute to BRCC is about 15 from your apartment to the college including parking. Harrisonburg is the town that really hosts BRCC so the night life is great there. No worries.
