living on campus is hell. in the one year i have lived there, there were two fire threats. one of the fires was set on our door. and black mold grew in 4 rooms that i know of, including my own. when i finally moved to a different building no one was helpful or accommodating. every one in residential life is rude, snooty and talks down to everyone including parents. the only friendly people you with encounter are the Atlantic Hall RD and assistant RD. but don't let that fool you. Atlantic is where the still unsolved fires occurred in Fall 2012 and the black mold was found both Fall 2012 and Spring 2013. If you have the option, avoid residential life all together and life off campus. It's cheaper to live in a well taken care of apartment or even commute two hours every day then it is to live there anyways. A big fat F- to Salem State University residential life. They should be embarrassed.
