I came to SGU as a freshman in fall 2011 because I received a big scholarship. It turns out everyone receives a big scholarship: the tuition rate is heavily discounted for most students. The school struggles to recruit students and the enrollment is low with a high transfer rate. Most of my friends transferred after their freshman year. The younger teachers are nice and the student life team is helpful. However SGU is located in a drug-filled small town with high crime and nothing to do on weekends. I am happy to transfer to OU in the fall and finally attend a REAL university. I would not recommend SGU. If you are a conservative catholic, you should look at Benedictine College on KS. If you are not catholic: there are many better options for college.
