Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I knew that Dayton was the place for me as soon as I stepped foot on campus. I knew that I could have received a wonderful education at many of the other schools that I was accepted to,however, I knew that I wouldn't walk away with as well rounded of an education. I knew that UD would afford me the opportunites to shape me mentally, spritually and academically. Things that attracted me to Dayton/why I loved the school:Size: about 7,500 UG! This was perfect because you're not just a number or going to a second high school. The average class size was 27 which allowed for great relationships with professors and students and a diversity in course work ( papers, group projects, presentations)Division 1: Well known on the national arena for sports, great athletic facilities and a lot of school spirit Academics: an open-minded Catholic, liberal arts education. Many of the classes fused the Marianist belief system by emphasizing community, ethics, and the meaning of life. Overall, UD was a very respected university in all educational fields. Housing Options: Every year there is something to look forward to and a little more independence. There are dorms, quads, suites, apartments and houses. The student neighborhood was UD's smartest decision. Since they are university owned houses it is completely furnished and utilities are included. Also, who doesn't want to live in a safe neighborhood next to their best friends?Social life: There was always something to do on the weekends. The Ghetto is probably the most popular place to visit on the weekends for the obvious. I also took advantage of their campus activities such as concerts, craft events, bus trips, sporting events and hanging out in the local Dayton area. If you get invovlved you can never be bored.
