I completed a Bachelors degree at a prestigious university and then entered a PhD program at a traditional brick and mortar college. Life intervened and I left the PhD program with a Masters degree. When I first looked into Walden I was a little uncertain, but the staff was friendly, they were accredited, and they accepted several of my PhD courses from my prior University. I am an extremely disciplined student, and while I missed my personal deadline for completion it was due to missteps on my part. I had several peers who left the program and the common thread between all of them was they lacked perseverance. Walden is not an easy program. You won't get calls from your adviser asking for an update on your dissertation. You won't meet for beers with classmates and discuss methodological issues with your research. You are solely responsible for moving your project forward. That will mean a minimum of a 18 months of late nights hammering away at your research. There is no short route to a PhD - if you are choosing this program because you think it will be easier then you are making a mistake. Would I prefer this teaching style for a bachelors? Probably not. But this is exactly what I expected in a PhD program and I got out of it what I put into it.
