So, I am a History major, seeking 8-12 teaching certification with a minor in social studies. I can say that if you are seeking to be a history or any other similar degree such as political science or economics, you would rather complete your basics at UTB. Any prospective student should rather do this.

Now this isn't to discourage you. This university has some great, I would say rather brilliant instructors. However, their bosses or faculty heads or whatever are the worst. In this University you will find some excellent instructors. At least one good guy per semester if you are lucky. The good instructors are very open-minded, helpful and have a good sense of humor. They engage you in their classes and the workload never gets heavy. Some good guys: Dr. Kaswan for European Politics, Dr. Kendall for History, Dr. Knopp for History/Geography, Dr. Wei for Composition classes. Just to name a few.

To prepare you for the worst: Some of the bad instructors don't really care to listen to your opinion or for you to develop your own research (even if they say it is a research) and they will not grade you fairly. They don't care about you and they don't simply care about teaching at all. Some of the bad guys: Dr. Fisher (History), Stiles-Cox (males, be ready to get no more than a B…), just to name a few.

This is on my experience. Notice there a few in the bad guys section. I mean, not all of them are bad, but most of them do not perform well.
