Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
Butler University is a mid-sized, private university in Indianapolis about 10-15 minutes from downtown. I liked going to Butler because the people were awesome and the education as great. The campus is really pretty and there are tons of places to run or walk. As far as students and social life: Some students are arrogant and snooty, but for the most part, students are very friendly and open minded. The students are mostly white, but there is some diversity. Greek life is a big thing, but most students (about 60%) do not participate, but it definitely is prominent. Even though the school is relatively small (about 4,500 students), there is always something to do. Butler is a great school for all types of people, whether they like to party or not. There are always parties on the weekends, but there are always other options for people who don't like to do that. Though some reviewers have said that the campus is mostly conservative, the campus leaned to be more liberal, at least for my personal experience. Academics: The academics at Butler are extraordinary. The university is mostly known for the college of pharmacy, but the college of business, education, and fine arts are also very respected. I know that the business and business and education have job placement rates of 98%+ every year, especially because employers in Indianapolis and around the state like hiring Butler grads. The professors are very intelligent and extremely helpful. Since it's a small school, professors know all their students, which is great because getting in contact with them is very easy.Living on campus: The school has a requirement to live on campus for through your junior year, which is longer than most universities. The freshman dorms aren't that great, simply because they don't have air conditioning, but the other dorms and apartments are nice. The only down part is that it is expensive. The meal plan is required and is too expensive for what we get. Overall: Butler University has provided me with so many opportunities, both academically and socially. Though it is one of the most expensive universities in the state, the school tries to give students an excellent, well-rounded education. And from what I have seen and received, they are doing a good job at it.
