Oakland is a great university with some flaws.

I'm a health science major going into physical therapy and the program is really awesome. The classes are challenging and applicable to real life situations. I also recently got a job as a PT tech that I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten had I not been going to Oakland.

Aesthetically, the campus is good. They keep expanding and constructing new buildings that look really nice. It also has a outdoorsy feeling to it, as you can see deer often.

The faculty and students are friendly for the most part. You will run into a few who will be arrogant or snobby, but you'd run across that at any university.

The only really bad part is the social life. It's a commuter college so you don't have the big party school feel of some other colleges. I am a commuter but have made good friends and have had a decent social life. I recommend joining clubs, going to the basketball games, and actually getting involved on the campus!

SO overall, I would recommend going to OU. It's preferable to live on campus, but you can still have a great experience if you don't.
