I have mostly positive and some negative things concerning Carnegie Institute. I feel they helped prepare me for my career but there was a few things we needed to be taught that would have better prepared us.

Most of the instructors are ok but they do have a tendency to treat us like kids. I am an older adult and everyone in my class was older so to be talked down to isn't a good thing. I do believe because they mostly have high school grads coming to them they feel they needed to have control over them. When I did one time question one of the instructors in front of the class about the "new rule' that I didn't feel was fair to the whole class I was on her shitlist from there on in and she would give me bad feedback on my report card. It's all right though as I wanted to be the better person and when I graduated I sent all of my instructors a thank you card including her.

Also, one of the instructors I really liked but her way of teaching was not the brightest. For some reason she likes to teach back to front. Which is weird, but hey whatever. Another time one of my classmates who was my friend hurt her leg and I went out to make sure she was okay and the instructor told me to go back to class. I told her no and told her that is my friend and I want to make sure she's ok. So, in summary they tend to think of all students as "high school kids" that need to be taken control of. I guess you could say that is my biggest peeve with them. Otherwise they are a great school and I would recommend them.

The curriculum is tough. Your'e gonna work hard and there are a lot of tests. And I mean a lot. Almost everyday we had a test. They are not just gonna hand you a certificate you have to work for it.
