Keep in mind, the alumni and professionals in the area help open doors for you and determine where you carry your career title and satisfaction. Tough crowd"? Yes,s sometimes. Just got back from a road trip in Jersey where i was told to blow my ambitions out of my ass and "Have to want a job." Be happy with the White tough crowd. :) |

DeSales provided me a very interesting experience. As far as the education, it is a young school so the resources available are very limited. The quality of the education is very good as you will see through the success in sciences and liberal arts. Socially speaking…it's a tough crowd. It is a generally white school which students who come from families who are not even close to needing help financially. Through my experience, the students can be very cut-throat. It is alot more like a high school atmosphere with different groups but that is mainly due to its small size. People can talk about you and will talk about you behind your back if you know enough people. It has a sort of "everyone knows everyone and everything" atmosphere to it. If you are out partying and make a few "drunken mistakes", chances are word will spread very quickly. As for the party scene, the desales police has lightened up when it comes to busting parties. As a student, it is very easy to find an on campus party, an off campus party either in a Bethlehem house or a townhouse right off of route 309. Bethlehem also is home to many bars which students who are of age spend Wednesday and Thursday nights at. We also hold our annual Block Party in Bethlehem which is an all day drinking event in the spring. If you don't want to party, watch some movies with your friends in your dorm. If you want to drink and not party, find some friends in a dorm and listen to music and play drinking games. Plain and simple. Easy to go out, easy to stay in. The only thing you have to watch out for is the social atmosphere because it is easy to drown in it. If you can handle a small school, like to party, and want a good education, DeSales is the place for you.
