I do not particularly like GMU. First of all, the campus itself is a large collection of haphazardly placed buildings. It is difficult to navigate and comprehend as a newer student.

The faculty are not what I expected either. After I transferred from a community college I expected to find a large quantity of high-quality instructors at GMU. Instead I have been met with a large number of less-capable instructors than I experienced at community college.

I am also not pleased about the fact that GMU does not have a football team or a marching band. Those were two activities I loved most in High School and I was incredibly disappointed to find out that they simply were not part of GMU.

The housing situation at GMU is also less than desirable. Several of the dorms are aging and low-quality places for living, yet it is also expensive. In addition, you have to pay a $300 fee just to APPLY for housing. That doesn't in any way mean you are going to get housing.

The parking situation is also shit. Parking permits are expensive as hell and the parking available to students living on-campus is annoyingly far away. When I had work in the morning, I did NOT enjoy having to walk 10 minutes just to get to my car.

The city of Fairfax where GMU is located is also unpleasant to say the least. It is a dirty, polluted, and noisy hell-hole. The roads are in disrepair and the traffic lights are way out of sequence so that traffic is awful when you are trying to go in or out of the city.
