Don't attend a state school to study math. I went to grad school for mathematics too elsewhere. Couldn't find a job. Only person I know who did find work was a straight A student and went into software because he minored in computer science. The book "Plutocrats" says that we are a data driven society, but the people hired to find solutions in that society come from IVY league and top schools. My relative studied math at an IVY got a job almost immediately. Google William Bennett. He stated recently that if you attend a state school, study something intensive like engineering otherwise employers won't be interested in you.
