If you like busywork and unemployment, go here. What they don't tell you is that this is where all the Philly kids who can't get in Penn State go, and every employer knows it. What employer wants to hire someone who can't even make it to Penn State? NOBODY! All that bullshit about how it doesn't matter where you go, it only matters what you do there is shit, employers see your 4.0 at Temple, and they DO know that had you gone to Penn State you would be having a 0.1 GPA.

Academics are a joke, show up in class and you will find you are either:

A) The only one there

or-

B) The only sobar one there.

The campus is ugly, drab, a mish-mash of decrepit academic buildings and modern styled shit that will be falling down in 5 years. Food is awful. There is a reason why people who actually know about Temple call it "Thug U", this is where every low time drug dealer or prostitute goes to school. Be prepared to be mugged by both the North Philadelphians and your fellow "students" (If you want to call them students).

I agree, yes, the education could be much better. But college education is a joke regardless. 50% of college grads are in the Unemployment line or in a field that they didn't major in regardless of degree or school.

However, there are many things I disagree with. MANY firms in Philadelphia come straight to Temple to recruit employees and partner. "Thug U"? My highschool teachers went here years ago and never heard of that. You're going to get drug dealers and questionable girls at ANY college you go to. You cannot escape it. I'm a 2nd year male who has never had an issue with locals and fellow students. Be friendly and have an open mind about them and they will do the same
