I think that all the positive reviews on here are from staff members. I know it?s them because they always mention the ?small class sizes?. So what? The class sizes are small, but that does not make up for the complete lack of academic vigor. When I transferred to the mainland after completing HPU's "college" level algebra with an A+, I had to test into calculus and I ended up placing into intermediate algebra in the mainland. What a waste of time and money this school was. No one has even heard of this shady school, your degree is practically worthless. In addition, the BUSINESS program is NOT accredited. I repeat it is NOT ACCREDITED.

Trust me, if you are at all concerned about the quality of education you will receive during your time in college, do not go to HPU. This is NOT A GOOD SCHOOL. I was tricked into it too. I didn't listen to the reviews, I thought they were just anecdotes from disgruntled students. I thought Hawaii would be cool, I thought this was a good school… if you're a freshman, do not go here, this place does not even remotely come close to a quality college experience.

After going to HPU for a year, I transferred to a state university on the mainland and I'm overjoyed that I did! The bigger state schools might have bigger classes, but they also have way more resources for students. I don't regret leaving that craphole they call a university for one second. I am making way more friends, I am challenged academically and I am happier than I have been in the past year.

Please listen to us when we say that the homeless literally infest the downtown campus. They are not just homeless people, but mentally ill and drug addicted. They were such a blight on the campus, they were a major factor in my decision to leave. They would harass me for money and threaten me when they did not get what they want. They would smoke at our lunch tables, and they would walk around yelling at people, scaring me and others. Drug dealers go to Ft Street Mall to score all the time. It is not uncommon to see drug deals and crime. Bikes and mopeds were constantly being stolen, it's just a shady shady place to be. As I walk around my beautiful, safe, grassy, tree lined, large, mainland campus, I thank myself everyday for making the decision to leave that worthless, waste of time school.
