I am going on my second year here and I am really disappointed with this school. While the teachers are generally good there are some that makes you think attending class is just a complete waste of time because they might as well be standing in the front of the room reading straight from the book. The advisers in my department were great and very helpful my advisor was always very accessible if I had any questions. My main problem with Sonoma State is it's student life. Basically if you are not a part of Greek Life there is nothing here for you to do. It is really hard to meet people if you don't go to parties and I think many people here a still stuck in high school; it is very cliquey and people tend to be superficial. There is also absolutely no school spirit and I think this is related to how we don't have a football team. Sonoma tried really hard this year to get school spirit up by going big for homecoming, but it flopped do to lack of organization. Unless you plan on joining Greek Life, and partying constantly I would not recommend this school.
