Classes are small, which brings some advantage, you live on the water, which opens up lots of opportunities for fishing, etc along with business opportunities if you're interested in marine areas of study. On the other hand, TAMUG is pretty underfunded, so the campus is pretty junky and the classes are pretty behind on technology (overhead projectors and blackboards) the lawns are rarely maintained, and there are many other things that could use some maintenance. The food isnt all that great, the mosquitoes are absolutely horrible, the intelligence level here is average at best, most people go home on the weekends, because Galveston is ghetto and limited in fun things to do. I plan on transferring to Texas a&m in college station ASAP. If you are a guy you will find that you can count the number of attractive women here on your fingers, so if you are a whale watching enthusiast, this is the place for you!
