Major: Public Policy (This Major's Salary over time)
I am currently a PhD student at Walden, working on my dissertation. I would agree and empathize with much of the below reviewer?s comments. However, I do not think any of the below experiences, or even my challenges, are unique to Walden University. The recruiters at every school hype their programs and institution. Moreover, PhD programs are all extremely expensive. Nevertheless, Walden's tuition is in the median range at $470 credit. Therefore, I do not think Walden deserves a negative review designation based on issues that are endemic to nearly every PhD program. Lastly, using the colloquialism of "for-profit" to describe Walden University is charged with so much biased, as if there is such a thing as an altruistic "non-profit." There is no such thing as a ?non-profit;? every 501(c) corporation makes profits, and many of them pay their CEO, COO, CFO and their other leadership huge salaries and bonuses that are often superior to their proprietary counterparts. Walden University is a private proprietary institution that cares about positive social change and wants its student's to succeed in their professions, because their graduates are a reflection of Walden.
