As I stand just days from graduation, I'd like to send this out to warn prospective KSU students from making the same mistake that I did. I'll start with the university and academics. As others have said, parking is atrocious, housing is expensive and a total pain, and the people of Kennesaw Hall (the people at the registrar, Career Center, etc) are worthless imbeciles who are often extremely rude, taking your questions with such annoyance that it's like doing their job is the greatest torture on earth. The student assistants are nice, but the higher-ups are just awful.

As an English Major, I thought the faculty was incredible. They're the only reason I didn't transfer (that and having already been to two other schools). They're very helpful, very friendly (for the most part), and have really helped me a lot in getting into graduate school. I love the professors. No, pre-4000 level, the courses aren't nearly as rigorous as I had hoped. And while there are certainly some bright students, there are some serious idiots too. How some of these people could be allowed to graduate high school is beyond me. Most of these morons (there was a guy in a class who seriously asked if pudding could possibly be a verb because it ends in "-ing". That's the kind of stupid I'm talking about here.) ended up graduating too, which makes me feel like my degree will be worth toilet paper. The only other positive is that the campus is gorgeous.

Socially.. well, I don't even know where to begin or end, so I'm going to keep this as succinct as possible. There's virtually no social atmosphere at KSU. Maybe if you're in Greek life, but even then I've heard it sucks. While not technically being an out-of-state student (I'm from Savannah), I might as well have been. Most people are from the metro and hang out with the cliques they were with in high school. I came in knowing nobody, and am leaving almost the same way despite living both on-campus and off for four years. Most people in my classes/clubs hung out with their old cliques, or were non-traditionals (there are lots of the latter). Making friends was extremely difficult. It's a dead campus. Nothing is ever happening, especially during the weekends. Commuter school to the max. If you already have a clique to socialize with, then fine. If not, then avoid KSU at all costs. Actually, avoid it regardless. The negatives far out-weight the few positives.
