I stayed at the University of Scranton for one semester and I am already transferring. I really did not like this school. To be fair I will give both the positives and negatives…

Positives:

The faculty are very nice, and they do really care about their students.

They do have really good programs if you are interested in going into the healthcare field.

The food is pretty good compared to other schools.

Negatives:

The location is AWFUL. Do not be fooled by the nice looking buildings on campus. There is NOTHING to do in the town of Scranton. Life at this school is EXTREMELY boring.

Most kids here are only interested in drinking. All they talk about is going out and getting drunk.

The parties are HORRIBLE. It is a bunch of drunk people in a really sketchy basement, just getting drunk out of their minds. The school acknowledges that this is a huge party school, to the point that they made jokes about it at their orientation, yet they do nothing about it. Public safety is a huge joke.

The area is not totally safe, there are always advisories going out about break- ins and armed robberies.

The sports coaches are not totally honest, they may tell you their is a spot for you on their team, but then later say their isn't.

While there were a lot of nice people, there were many people who were very close-minded and snobby.

The school is very expensive.

This school is not completely horrible, but please please please think seriously before coming here. It is a very expensive school and you will not get a full college experience. Do not be fooled when people try to tell you there is stuff to do here, because there is NOTHING. This school is way to small and in a horrible location to have a full college experience.
