St. Johns River State is essentially a community college. Not much of a social place, just somewhere to gain college credits.
I attend the Orange Park campus, which is the largest of the three. However, most of the extracurricular's are located at the Palatka (main) campus which is almost an hours drive away. A for effort on behalf of St. Johns though!
The academic's of this college are pretty good though, and that's what counts the most at a "community" style college.
Applying to attend St. Johns is a real pain. The applications process, which is online, is outdated, messy, and confusing. And getting a person from the admissions/financial aid office on the phone is almost like dinosaurs: non-existent.
In conclusion, if someone is looking to get a bare-bones but good education close by, St. Johns is a good school.
