Date: Feb 02 2014
Major: Music - Performance (This Major's Salary over time)
In 2011 I entered TMC as a homeschooled freshman. My family lived in Virginia, and I only knew one person attending the school. I attended this school because I thought I liked the environment and the academics were challenging. If this is what you are looking for in a school TMC accomplishes this. The time I spent at Master's is largely overshadowed by legalism, cliques, and mixed messages from various faculty.

Legalism: Dress code(you pick, its 105 degrees and windy, jeans or a skirt?), No dancing(like seriously, its not allowed. ever. oh wait, if chapel arranges a flash mob its OK, but seriously, no dancing), church/chapel requirement(I enjoyed chapel, and do not regret any of the times I went, but attending chapel for 4.5-5 hrs/week adds up..)

Cliques: These exist everywhere. There are favorites in every dept, even music, but I was most hurt by the cliques in my own dorm. I wasn't included in a single dorm event until my second semester.

Mixed Messages: (Some faculty are GREAT! I love Abner Chou. If you attend TMC take every single class he teaches!)

I was promised a music scholarship in JAN by Dr. Opher, and told in May by the music dept. that he has no right to award scholarships and has done this to other students.

Favoritism among music professors is bad. Students are glorified or ignored based on their appearance and instructor rather than skill/ability.

Double standards for athletes vs. "normal" students are real.
