The U is a great place for a certain kind of student, but it's a bit harder to navigate socially if you are not that kind of student who has a "work hard, play hard" mentality (emphasis on the "play hard"). It's not impossible, though. Everyone's really open-minded, and the University offers a wealth of resources in every regard—activities, athletics, extracurriculars, peer tutoring, counseling, career services, etc. The faculty are all very knowledgable and reasonable human beings, and you'd do well to get to know them and take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities that are offered.
