I will commence by saying that this university was not by any means my first choice or dream school like many others that attend this joke of a university. I was very disappointed indeed when I received all of my rejection letters from the UC's I wanted to attend from the beginning and this one was the only one who didn't reject me. Yes, this is sad, but this college is the place where ALL UC rejects come to. If you ask the people here why they decided to attend, they respond with "Because I didn't get in anywhere else." I am so ashamed to even tell people I am from here. When asked I tell them I attend "UCLA, USC or Stanford." Let's begin with the town. I am from L.A. and used to the well-dressed people, elegance, and diversity that is prevalent in the beautiful city of L.A. This town is trashy, boring, lame, and poor. The people living here are mainly living in poverty. I sometimes don't even want to go out of campus because I get so depressed just by seeing all the people in the town. They all look like farmers that live of off welfare. It is revolting to say the least. The mall is a joke. The "mall" here is nothing but a strip of stores. They have a CVS in the "mall." What? How? The town is just old, depressing, and dilapidated. I find it so hard to believe people actually chose to live here. There are no beaches, obviously, we are located in the middle of no where. You will see nothing but cows and barren ugly land. The smell of cow dung is mostly prevalent in the mornings. It gets very hot during the summer.

The majority of the student population are Hispanics. You rarely see a Caucasian person around or a black one. Even though I am not complaining about the lack of black people. I do wish I could see more Caucasians though. The people here for the most part have no sense of style. They usually dress like they would for their lounging at home moments. It is so sad. I dress like a person from L.A. would and I get so many stares. I comprehend this because people here don't dress as well as I do and find it such an oddity.

The classes here have been a total joke. I went to a rigorous high school before coming here and the work load is such a joke. I laugh at people who say this school is hard because it is not. I have a 4.0 GPA so far and I am only a freshman. Many people get kicked out though, because they do drug and drink a lot their first semester which is great because all the idiots deserve to leave.I have only encountered one professor who I would consider competent and a great professor. Dr. Alex Khivslasky. He is great.

Other professors are either incompetent or just plain lazy. Also, I wanted to attend college to associate myself with intellectual individuals but there are none here. The majority of students are just plain out dumb. One student in one class asked the professor whether she should capitalize "Hilter." Honey this was taught in elementary school. I have to feel ashamed because I can not feel pride for this institution. The food is gross and poorly made. The campus is overall clean and nice except for the barren land. The campus is dead and empty most weekends and even on weekdays. It is rare to see a soul walking around on the weekends. Too many swagfags come here.

I was willing to move to a community college after this year but decided to go through this hell for another year and then transfer. I hope never to return to this awful boring campus. The activities that are created here are a total joke. NO ONE SHOWS UP. And if someone does show up there are only 17 people…

I am dorming in Mariposa and the majority of people are very loud and ratchet. They will scream in the middle of the night. The rooms are very small and claustrophobic.I have some awful creepy roommates this year and am only hoping I get better ones next year.

To sum it all up: DON'T GO HERE AT ALL. When I see students touring the school I sooo wish I had the guts to advise them not to come here at all. They are better off at a community college paying less than for this joke. I was going to transfer to a CC but was adamant because I wouldn't like to leave the UC reputation behind but UCM has not reputation so what would I be losing?
