As instate student I enjoyed the fact that I could transfer in a lot of previous credits that I earned at the Maricopa community colleges and some of the technical schools in Arizona. However, I think the school is too expensive, unless you are receiving substantial scholarships. I think instate students should be charged less in order to remain competitive with ASU. GCU is a tier II university, which doesn't quite live up to prestige. I know a lot of online students are out-of-state, but I don't think its a good choice to attend GCU if you are not a resident. GCU is not well recognized outside of Arizona. I have heard stories of some employers not wanting to recognize students who are attending GCU from out-of-state.
