Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I was a first year Biology/ Pre-Med major last year and am transferring. The only reasons I would stay at this school would be for the academics and for the surrounding city. Nashville is an amazing city with lots to do. As a Biology major, I loved all of the teachers, even outside of my department. They are very friendly and willing to work with you (I had some personal problems and couldn't have asked for more understanding and cooperative teachers). The classes are not too large compared to public schools which is a plus. They have a MED club and Health Advisory Board for pre-med students to help keep you on a track which is a plus. It also helps being so close to so many major hospitals. I absolutely hated the student body. I come from a Church of Christ background and found the majority of students to be hypocrites. While they claim to be Christians, many act just like typical college students, but since they go to a Christian school, they seem to think they are better than a typical public school student. They do not practice what they preach. If your parents are not upper class or rich you will not fit in. While I had to work on the weekends, most students went to Green Hills mall to spend mom and dad's money. The students are extremely cliquey. If you aren't in one of their social clubs, expect to be an outcast. No one goes to any of the sporting events and everyone stays on their iphone or macbook during chapel. Overall, the school really isn't worth the huge amount of money it costs to go there. I'm sure other universities have just as good academic programs with much friendlier and down to earth student bodies, especially if you want to go to a Christian school.

commentSorry you had a bad experience. You are free to share what was good and what you didn't like about Lipscomb. In fairness tobyiur classmates, it is unfair to term them " hypocrites " because your experience was an unhappy one. In fairness to them and yourself, maybe they didn't grow up in Christian background and are just getting to know the Lord. Young Christianity is an exciting thing however considering them or yourself a hypocrite is untrue and unfair.
