The good news is there isn't a lot of competition and a good student will reap the rewards. If you are willing to put yourself out there, you'll stand out, and there are tons of opportunities to be involved in undergraduate research for someone like you! Just by keeping up with my studies and doing well in my classes, I got a full ride scholarship my whole undergraduate career. Keep in mind this means there are a dearth of students who actually care. For a student who is ambitious and wants to change the world for the better, the complacency of the student body can get to you.Unfortunately, regarding the plentiful financial aid, there wasn't much of a point; I couldn't get into the classes I needed to go on the career path I wanted. I was forced to take obscure specialty classes. I've graduated and I feel no closer to my goals.
