Olivet is a beautiful school, and don't get me wrong there are a lot of positives. I've already made some really good friends and feel welcome on campus. However; I get a very greedy and profitable vibe from the University Administration. They seem far more concerned with upkeep on the image of the university. The rules are restrictive and childish and are frankly quite irritating. I hate that I still feel like I'm living with overprotective parents. I had more freedom in high school. Like if you aren't ultra conservative this probably isn't the place for you. The dress code is ultra strict, no swearing, no sex, no physical contact between genders, no homosexuality, little diversity, mandatory chapel…etc. And when you get here they say "Don't complain, you knew the rules before coming here." This is a bullshit lie. The University never addresses the rules before you come. Ever. And a lot of people that come here aren't expecting such heavy regulations and are shocked when they arrive. Rightly so. Overall I'd say if you aren't looking to do anything "inappropriate" then fine come here. But if you are looking to grow as a person, and as an adult then the paternal level of regulations will vastly inhibit you to do so.
