Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I feel like people on this site just go here if they have a bad experience with a school. I'll be honest, there are quite a few students that start out as freshmen from tiny towns expecting to party hard and wind up with an engineering degree and make 100K. I feel that this is the case with most of the reviews on here. That is not how this school works (I do feel an average monkey can graduate from the petroleum program, but that is another story entirely). This is a science and engineering school, with very technical classes. It isn't supposed to be easy. The teachers are super smart and helpful. They all know you by name and are willing to help out at the drop of a hat. If that isn't your style, they have a tutor center where you can go to get help with anything from homework to test prep on specific classes. They do their best to give every student the best shot at success. Students (that are here to get an education) are all super friendly. The surrounding town is an old mining town with a small town feel. Many students think that drinking is the only thing to do, and yes, you can find someone to do that every day of the week if you like. And no, Katy Perry won't be coming to town anytime soon. If you like to go biking, skiing, mountain climbing, camping, etc, get some friends and go do it! Its a perfect spot to do all of this! The school isn't going to drive you to the lake and grill burgers for you, you got to do that yourself. So stop saying there isn't anything to do here lol. I've played on school organized dodgeball/softball teams as well as soccer every Sunday. So I don't know where all these reviews about "nothing to do" are coming from. Wake up and be active!
