DeVry is not known for being a Stanford or UC Berkeley. No one's mouth is going to drop open when they find out you went to DeVry. The minimal requirements to graduate are very easy and it doesn't take much to get accepted.

What DeVry does offer, however, is opportunity and resources for those so inclined to take advantage of them. They give you access to MS Office, MS Windows (7,8, Vista, etc), MS Server (2008, 2012, etc) as well as learning resources (Skillport) which alone are almost worth the tuition. If you can network with professors you can get good recommendations, especially in the Bay Area where there are lots of technical jobs available and lots of money for those who can do the work.

If you're going to study at DeVry and want to make the most of this and do well afterward, GO ABOVE AND WAY BEYOND the minimum requirements for graduation. Read the whole book not just the parts required for graduation. Also, download copies of the free software, even the stuff you don't care about now. The downloads are only available while you're a student but the licenses are good forever. You can get thousands of dollars worth of software. There's also Skillport and other third-party learning resources which are great for technical certifications. I used them to pass CCNA and CompTIA A+ and prepare for CCNP.

You can use the resources at this school and get your degree and do well for yourself but it's all up to you. If you were going to UC Berkeley you could do well meeting the minimum requirements for graduation and still live a comfy live coasting off the accomplishment of having graduated from Berkeley, but DeVry IS NOT BERKELEY. You need to dedicate yourself to figuring out what you need to learn to reach the potential you see for yourself. If you have a good idea of where you want to set your sights, DeVry is a good way to get there. The resources available make up for the lack of reputation that DeVry gets as an institution.
