Seriously, please don't go here. I was a student there for many years and worked on staff for several years. Yes, you can be blind for that long. You can think it's really you who is the problem and you should do God's will, when it's really who you're associated with that you should be running away from fast! Although there are some genuinely nice people there, the overall mentality and worldview taught is cultish, sheltered, and condescending. I will not even go into the many people I've interacted with there who are just nasty; their sweet, "spiritual" disposition is all surface; when they have to deal with pressure or people who are going through real-life problems, you wouldn't even guess they were "Christians." The only ones who will "grow there spiritually" are basically those who are already geared toward or part of the legalistic fundamental crowd. They go to the Bob Jones-approved churches and thrive and flourish there. At school they flourish some more then everyone goes back home to witness to the rest of the heathen families and world that don't think like them. Please, just go to a real school that will give you an accredited degree and if you're seeking a Christian school, go to one that teaches biblical Christianity.

This is a good review. A really good review. I mean, I'm amazed at the kind of negative comments I FIND on this place. What's most interesting is that the positive comments are generally short and all say the same thing: "Great school, I loved it, really helped me in my walk with Christ". But the negative ones… on average they go on far longer, and go into far greater detail. And there is more variance in what exactly is said, or how it's said. Let me say how much I appreciate this review and believe its truthfulness wholeheartedly. Let me also say that I can testify to the truth of one statement- I roomed with a BJU grad (undergrad and masters) for 7 months, and he was exactly how you described. Sweet, spiritual disposition of his was all surface; the second the pressure was on he got real nasty real quick. He showed himself to actually be a petty, mean, hateful man despite the heavily legalistic, I-love-Jesus exterior. Apart from going to church every Sunday I'd never know he was a Christian. God bless this review, and you for telling the truth about this awful place.
