Without a doubt, the most unhelpful, unfriendly admissions/transfer support staff around. Can't get anyone on the phone, and when you do they sound irritated to speak to you. If you are trying to take basic courses to transfer OUT of SMC, beware if you have to transfer in, as it is a $$ game. Doesn't matter if every other school in Los Angeles will accept your credits…SMC won't, and they are vague and snotty about it when you ask why. I get it that some things won't transfer - just don't be rude about it.For your classes: The instructors are poorly paid and let you know it…as in they actually will tell you IN CLASS.Also, if you have a hard time with a topic, whatever that topic is, BE SURE you choose your instructor correctly and research them. I had the unfortunate incident of taking a mathematics course from an ESL teacher who STUTTERED. I don't mind what your first language is, but if you are teaching a difficult topic in a language that is not comfortable to you to speak clearly, OR you just don't like helping people…maybe you need a different career.
