Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
Iona College didn't live up to my expectations. The current high level administrators are useless and ineffective. Anytime you try to meet any of them, they are in meetings and nothing is getting done, except their office renovations and upgrades. Don't forget to look at their salaries.

My resume, that came out of Career services was laughable, and I visited the center on numerous occasions. The staff were so friendly, but they were so short-handed. Iona should put their money where their mouth is - and let the center hire more Career Counselors to support the hiring needs of the students.

I gave my final resume to my friend who is an Executive Recruiter, and he said, it wouldn't even get me a part-time job at McDonald's, never mind a job at a leading global financial services firm. Most Fortune 50 - 500 corporations, don't attend Iona's Job Fairs. Now I know why. Iona doesn't prepare their students for the job market. In most cases, you are left on your own to find your own internship and jobs.

I thought this new Administration was going to make some positive changes and get Iona on the map, but it's going down hill more.

Out of curiosity, I went online, to employment websites, and viewed resumes of Iona students, and like mine, the resumes were of poor quality, and are greatly jeopardizing the students' chances of getting hired.

I went into McSpedon Hall recently, to pay a bill, and noticed that the first floor has been totally renovated. How come the President had money to spend on new floors, doors, and on and on, but doesn't have money to hire additional Career Counselors to help the students? This new Administration is definitely not providing Iona students with high-quality support services, that are affordable.

Before you even consider Iona, make sure you do your homework, and get details of the following: How many students are getting interviews at Fortune 500 companies across industry lines, how many students are getting offered full-time jobs, what salary are the graduates getting paid, and ask yourself, will you, as a parents, or your son/daughter, be able to pay back their outstanding college loans?

As a student, I will complete my undergraduate degree at Iona, because I plan to go to graduate school at a high ranking college, like Manhattan College, or Fordham or Seton Hall University.

I'm disappointed that all this current Administration is concerned about is tangible amenities for themselves, and not support services for students.

The student that wrote you can't judge a book my its cover -was so right.

Iona should focus on student amenities, and until they do, I wouldn't recommend Iona to any high school student.

Also, in agreement, with the other posting, Iona is overcrowding core classes to save money on professor's salaries. They honestly can't even get good Adjunct faculty, in the STEM/Science areas, because the salary they offer is so low. Therefore, once again, the students suffer. Adjuncts just teach his/her class and leave.

Until a new Administration overtakes Iona, that understands how to run a business, I wouldn't recommend Iona to any of my friends or family members.

As mentioned in the posts, ask questions, do your homework, and forget the tours and open houses. Ask to meet with the top administrators, and ask for job hiring reports. It's your money - don't waste it or waste your time.

If Iona Administrators allow resumes to be posted with basic grammar and spelling errors, that lack specific information, they are showing no concern for the interests of their students or success of Alums. Once an employer gets your resume, is it s extremely difficult to repair the damage of your first impression.

Please do your homework and ask questions.
