The campus is pretty and the faculty can be reachable and sometimes helpful; however, this place has zero social life and if you aren't front he surrounding area you won't fit in. The school is a commuter school, and the campus is dead by 4 pm. Many students are older and have families or other obligations, so there is no student life. The students that are younger are close minded and already have a clique of friends, they are very hard to approach. If you don't speak spanish or if you aren't from the surrounding area, you will have a difficult time here. I strongly recommend anyone who wants the traditional college experience to not go here. I've only been here for a semester and I hated it the entire time. Unless you are an athlete and put in the nicer dorms, you will be dormed with only international students who stay in their groups and don't speak english.

commentI read you review to my mother and of course I read it myself and me and my loved it. It was an honest, blunt, and wonderful review.

I got accepted into UTEP back in Spring of 2014 and for some reason I never visited the school or was 100 percent sold on going to UTEP. That should have been a sign.

Look, I've went to school with Latinos for most of my life on this earth so I know them like a book.

Latinos' whole culture is based on conformity and building a wall against people not in their culture, especially the illegal ones and the ones people like to called ethnic Mexicans.

Mexicans or even the legal and Americanized Latinos, only like to deal with or put up with people outside their race or culture when it's convenient, conducive to their career, or money is involved.

Latinos they use El Paso and Los Angeles (where I live) as places to splash their culture in people's faces and expect people to put up with their prejudices and racism (Compton, Watts, etc.).

I'll be damned if I live in a city like El Paso or Los Angeles (I'm moving in 2015) where Latinos dominate the demographics and I have to put up with their conformity, sheep-like culture, and prejudices and undercover racism.

If you knew me I would have given you a lecture course on Latinos, El Paso (been there and done research on the city extensively) and I bet you have NEVER went to UTEP.

I'm glad I decided not to go to UTEP and I think you need to save your money and have your family or whoever come and get you out of El Paso. NOW!!!!!!!

Life is too short to be unhappy. UTEP aint the only college in the world. Girl, you need to bounce and get out of UTEP and El Paso.

What are you waiting for, get up and make plans to move. You said you hate it there then do something about it.
