Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
Graduated the BS Psychology program from UoP online. It took me around six years to complete because of real-life work commitments. The advantage of UoP is the length of class. 5-week courses; you can knock out an undergrad in a little more than half the time at a four-year university. My GPA was ridiculously high upon graduating, because if you turn in all your work on time, you're almost certain to get an A. This is good if you plan to get your Master's at a prestigious institution, and is almost a requirement with Psychology. The disadvantage is that its easy to cheat. Most of the UoP coursework is on sites like scribd including weekly discussion questions, presentations, math answers, etc. There are no proctored tests, just coursework. This sounds easy yes, but you're not learning anything or getting lab time which is important in any science discipline. More importantly, you don't get any help with internships or experience upon graduating, which is important for Psychology. They have started career counseling portion of the website, but its really bare-bones entry-level job placement. The student advisers will not help you get employed. UoP is not something I put on my resume either, I simply list B.S. in Psychology with my GPA. Its embarrassing to compare myself to someone who graduated and studied abroad at Oxford or John Hopkins in Psychology. Perception is everything on resumes. Plan on immediately getting a Master's Degree from a better rated university you are proud of listing. At least you will have a high enough GPA to qualify for any MS program you desire.
