If you're thinking about attending EIU, I would not focus on all of the negative comments. Everyone has their own opinion. Eastern is a great school, if you're looking for something small enough where you can actually meet with you professors for help. I definitely recommend Greek Life. It is a great way to meet new people and get involved in extracurricular activities. Any college experience will be what you make of it. If you have a positive outlook, you will have a great time here. I love EIU and would never transfer to another school. Charleston has become my home away from home. Sure, there are 50 different restaurants, but we're in college and most of us can't afford to eat out all of the time anyways. If you wanted to go out to a nice restaurant (sushi, seafood, gourmet, etc.), Effingham is only 15-20 minutes away. Just because enrollment is decreasing doesn't mean EIU is a bad school. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that.
