I think Warren Wilson sounds like a great school in theory. In application, the school is kind of a hot mess. After a semester I had to transfer because the school was a very poor fit for me. I will try to be as unbiased as I can. That being said, there are some people at Wilson who seem generally content. Here's my unbiased opinion of the school.

Positives: Very small class size, individual attention, tight social scene (if you manage to squeeze into it), socially conscious / environmentally friendly student body, 15-20 minute bus ride (which is free with a student ID) from Asheville, which is a very cool little city.

Negatives: Academics are kind of a joke here. I'm not very smart, and I got all A's my first semester, even for a class that I had turned in a late final for. Majors are very limited, it seems like a new major is always on the chopping block. I found it very hard to make friends here. Like anywhere, there are cliques and at this school, it was really hard to find a group of solid friends. With work and service, I often had little free time to go out and socialize, so a good portion of my nights were spent in my room alone. There are some parties, but since I'm not super into partying I didn't really find my niche.

**the work program at Wilson is good and bad, but the janitorial crew at Wilson is very poorly trained and bathrooms are often disgusting. The school is a cesspool of germs and it's honestly pretty gross. I worked in Cowpie Cafe (the vegetarian dining hall) and one of my supervisors would often adjust her nose ring and without washing her hands, would taste/touch a lot of the food. Also in Cowpie, very few students wear hairnets while working which is absolutely disgusting and unhygienic. **
