Major: Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
I had two professors that were really great at SFAI and they worked in the Art History Department. I was a printmaker, and for the most part, the MFA program is not equip for the printmaker. I constantly had to justify why I was printmaking in critiques and tutorials to painters and sculptors. Even people in the print deparment were unhelpful, negative or unaccessible. There was simply no guidance what so ever. The art history program is better, because the faculty give more of their time, but still they are WAY over worked and had a difficult time reaching out to all students. I tried for 2 semesters to get in with one professor, but she was always booked up. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with SFAI. One of my biggest regrets is attending SFAI (other than the few people who really put in effort.) It was full of negativity, politics, and cost me a FORTUNE! (over 150,000) What did I get for such a large price tag? Students should be given their money back for the institution not upholding their end of the bargain.
