CSM is a sham. If the administration of this institution even spent half of their bureaucratic efforts and budget on actually creating a cutting-edge educational experience then maybe this school could be worth your time. However, it seems that they have decided to instead invest that time and money into other things, like advertising the so-called prestige of this school and construction of a 'welcome building' to hustle more potential applicants into coming to this second rate engineering school. This school has an attrition rate of 89% and accepts 45% of applicants. I transferred here from a school that had an attrition rate of 30%, but silly me I transferred to CSM hoping to get more of a challenge out of my education with the extra perk of a recognizable school name. How wrong I was. My GPA jumped from a 3.5 to a 3.8 and I have not felt legitimately academically challenged since my previous school, the University of Denver (where I also majored in EE). I can confidently conjecture that CSM is no more difficult than ANY other ABET-accredited school. I have seen more curved exams and facile busy work at my time here in one semester than I saw in two years at DU. Furthermore, this school pumps their student body with so much school pride and stories of adversity that students here talk about attending CSM like it is pure hell. This further perpetuates the flat-out lie that CSM is a great institution when in actuality it is an academic embarrassment. Additionally, the bureaucracy of this school is legitimately worse than any class you could take here. They are impudently unhelpful and if you have the bad luck to be a transfer student then just do yourself a favor and throw all your credits away rather than fight the uphill battle that awaits you. Only a school that is as much of a joke as CSM would literally turn down a students' request to take a more challenging class in the same area as an alternative to repeating one they are attempted to transfer. Seriously?
