While the Academy gets a bad rapport about being one of the least "fun" schools to go to, with the right attitude you can enjoy it. Yes Swab summer (Basic training) is incredibly hard and so is 4/c (Freshman year) but the longer you are there the better the school is to you and the more you can enjoy it.The academics are hard but they're really what you'/d expect for a school with less than a 15% acceptance rate.On a brighter note the campus is beautiful and on the water! Overall the Coast guard Academy is worth it for any student. You get an education valued at over $400,000 for free as well as a guaranteed job paying around $65,000 (salary plus housing and living expenses). Not to mention an extensive Alumni network of over achievers. Finally you are SERVING your COUNTRY as well as the environment and the World!
