Kennesaw State is for two types of students:

The first type are the adult learners/non-traditionals who are just now returning to school and don't really care about things like the social scene or elite academics. If all you want from college is to go to class, get your degree, and move on with your life, then this isn't a bad place to go.

The second type are the local kids who come from nearby high schools and already have their social group set. If you want to continue to live out your high school identity with your high school friends, then this isn't a bad place to go.

But if you're like me, and not from anywhere near the Atlanta area, and you DO care about having a social life and a good degree, then KSU is a very very bad choice. There are a lot of high school cliques on campus, and an annoying percentage of people don't want others to join their groups. The on-campus dorms are strict against partying, so the campus is essentially dead at night. It's also a suitcase school, with most people leaving every Thursday night anyway, so the campus is utterly dead on weekends. It's hard to get invited to parties off-campus, because many people keep their parties a secret due to the Cobb County PD's habit of busting them up. There aren't many good clubs/bars for students in the area either; downtown Atlanta, Athens, and even Statesboro have Kennesaw beaten badly in this regard. Pathetic. And then, even if you're a social person and happen along some friends you can party and chill with, chances are they'll transfer to another school and leave you all on your own again anyway (happened to me). Talk about a miserable school!!

Anyway, as far as the academics go, KSU sure isn't GT or UGA or even Georgia State. There are good professors, and it's a decent enough school to get you a job or to graduate school, but nobody's jaw will drop at your KSU degree. The students are, overwhelmingly, average. A few dummies, and a few really bright students, but mostly average. KSU is really just an extension of high school in many ways.

Why is partying should be part of your education? Your priority should be 4.0 GPA, complete your degree in 4 years and GTFO ! yes there are many idiots teaching at KSU but did you know they came from UGA, GT, and Emory lol?
